Rencontres d'Arles - II

The Rencontres would not have been as interesting as they were if I had not had great company. The group of talented artists working at Reminders Photography Stronghold in Tokyo under the leadership of Yumi Goto was in town en masse. I loved the energy they produced together and admired their book projects, one more interesting and innovative than the other. It was good to share a beer or two, and to cook some pasta for some of them one evening!

My special thanks in particular to Hiroshi Okamoto and Mayumi Suzuki who first welcomed me to the Gallery in Tokyo (with Keiji Fujimoto) and then to the happy crowd in Arles. A fond "see you soon again" to Michiko Hayashi, Taro Karibe, Hajime Kimura, Kenji Chiga, Kazuma Obara and Chloe Jafé, the honorary Japanese in the group...
